Robert has spent over 15 years in the public sector, initially with Leeds City Council and now with Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Initially working as a systems accountant developing end-user based solutions, Robert has now come to specialise in the development and customisation of Oracle Applications and its associated interfaces from a wide variety of legacy systems. Robert has recently completed the development and roll-out of a complete state of the art web delivered MIS solution to a user base of over 800 users, but more usually is the centre-pin of the ongoing delivery of Leeds Teaching Hospitals e-commerce strategy with a toolkit that includes: Inventory Systems, Web Requisitioning, e-invoicing, invoice approval workflow, web punchout and B2B e-procurement. Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust relies upon a wide range of Version One solutions; DbArchive, DbScanning, DbBACS, DbFax, DbForm and DbMail all of which are deeply integrated into the Trust's Oracle ERP System.
Newcastle 14th May - Ian Peel

Ian has worked at Sheffield Hallam University in the Finance Directorate since Feb 1990 as Systems Development Manager being responsible for all the University’s finance systems and all IT within the Directorate. Due to a reorganisation, Ian’s role has been transferred into a new group called University Systems Group. In this role he is responsible for the corporate financial systems and their integration with the University’s other corporate systems. Prior to working at the University, Ian worked for 8 years at Barnsley MBC as Systems Accountant and before this held both management and financial positions at South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire County Councils.

Kerr has spent over 22 years in local government working in the former Strathclyde Regional Council Finance Department and now with Strathclyde Fire and Rescue. 15 of those years have been spent developing, testing, implementing and maintaining finance-related systems from a user’s perspective along with understanding and providing management reports and information. The systems over the period have ranged from large mainframe applications through to client/server setups and web-deployed technologies. Strathclyde Fire and Rescue has around 4000 employees with an annual budget of around £145 million.
Manchester 20th May - Phil Leeson
Finance Manager
East Riding of Yorkshire Council
Phil has worked in local government for 36 years and for the East Riding of Yorkshire Council since 1996 where he is Finance Manager of Systems Development and Control. He has implemented financial information systems at three different local authorities and integrated several bespoke software solutions along the way. Phil first implemented Version One software in 2002 adding several more modules since and he is currently leading the implementation of the Council’s procure-to-pay solution.

Allan is Group IT Manager at Nichols plc which comprises five companies in the soft drinks market, including Vimto, Panda and Sunkist. Allan has spent the majority of his career providing finance and manufacturing business solutions using a variety of ERP systems and 3rd party solutions. More recently Allan delivered an IT environment that enabled the successful implementation of a shared services finance function incorporating a central document warehouse accessed by sites throughout the UK.

Paul, a qualified accountant, specialises in helping organisations gain significant benefit through the implementation of business systems. As a director with KPMG Consulting, he worked with many multinational companies to help create efficiencies, re-engineer business processes, improve management information and strengthen financial procedures and controls during major implementation projects. As Programme Manager for NCH, a leading UK children’s charity, Paul has recently led the programme to re-structure the finance function, change enabled by the implementation of its accounting system and Version One’s document management software.
