The current economic climate with rising VAT and shaky consumer confidence is impacting how and were we spend our money. The travel and leisure sector is particularly sensitive to consumer demand and as such is extremely susceptible to environmental, economic and market trends.
Whilst it is clear that the sector is and will continue to experience challenging times, the winners in the highly diverse and fragmented travel and leisure industry will be those organisations that turn these challenges into opportunities. Tightly managing their businesses by cutting costs and driving greater business efficiencies by eliminating paper based business processes.
"With authorised managers having access to purchase orders and purchase invoices directly from their PCs, invoice approval times will be dramatically improved. Managers will also have greater control over cost reconciliation and the posting and faxing of purchase-to-pay documents between sites will be eliminated.
Going forward, we will look at electronically archiving all 40,000 leisure centre membership records which are currently stored in filing cabinets across our sixty sites."
