John
Greene, Systems Accountant at Aer Lingus,
said, "Since we repositioned as a low-fares
airline, we are continually striving for
greater efficiency savings and yet security
and preservation of our accounting documents
is of paramount importance. Recognising
the benefits it can bring to our business,
we've chosen Version One's proven software
to introduce a powerful new document archive and retrieval system and also replace existing
output management software."
Aer Lingus will use the
full suite of Version One software to
its fullest potential. They now have electronic
images of documents instantly available;
these can be retrieved within seconds,
greatly improving productivity and replacing
the need for physical storage. Time and
money will be saved, by reducing the time-consuming
filing of both incoming and outgoing documents.
Copies of accounting documents can now
be delivered instantly to customers and
suppliers, via electronic transmission.
One of the most important aspects for
Aer Lingus is the ability to scan over
65,000 incoming purchase invoices per
annum from their many suppliers, allowing
the introduction of electronic certification
for their Business Managers, thus replacing
a current paper-based system.

- John Greene, Systems Accountant, Aer
Lingus
"We expect a visible
return-on-investment as a direct result
of using Version One's software, including
greater efficiency, reductions in debtor
days, better cash-flow management and
improved internal communication. "
John Greene explained.
Aer Lingus will also be
using Version One's software to facilitate
the billing of other carriers through
the IATA clearing house.
Primarily based out of Dublin,
Aer Lingus offers routes to the UK, Europe
and the US. The airline also flies from
Cork and Shannon airports. Greg O'Sullivan,
Group Financial Controller, commented,
"As well as improving the security
of vital business documents, we anticipate
that implementing Version One's paperless
office technology will generate significant
savings in all areas of use."
"Taking advantage of
Version One's spectacular scanning capability,
we will be expanding document scanning to other business applications within
the organisation and also deploying this
to remote locations," John Greene
added.
Tony Bray, Director at Version
One, commented, "Aer Lingus is our
latest client in the airline industry
to realise the enormous global business
benefits of implementing fully-integrated
paperless office technology and we are
delighted to work in partnership with
them." |
